Impact of Corona on students
A question was asked
'What's Newton's law?'
'I am a Science student and not a Law student.'
Oh Covid batch!
Jokes apart, education system is hammered in real sense by this Corona.
The whole world is impacted in multiple ways by this Covid wave but the students are adversely hit. Beyond doubt the technology is so advanced that many folds of our life are working Online and education is one of them.
There is a genuine question that comes to my mind
Can this Online system provide sense of discipline, social harmony, physical fitness, stage talent and public speaking areas etc?
Can the students be groomed as per their potential?
The answer to the above questions is simply, 'NO'
The educational institutions boast of their Online classes. But in the heart of hearts all academicians know the hard facts and reality of this Online system.
Ethics have fallen and it is showing in the character of our students today. They cheat in the online tests and exams. It is very disheartening to find that even parents encourage their children to cheat and get more marks. It is a grave concern that seriousness and sincerity have disappeared in the present Covid wave.
When we were children, we were taught:
Better fail rather than to cheat!
But now Corona has changed this dictum to Better cheat than to get less marks.
It is sad to see the value of honesty coming to a zero level.
A Pakistani celebrity mentioned in one of her interviews, "I told my son to cheat in the exam. I got annoyed when he refused to do so."
May be in the subconscious of the child there was some ethical value hidden!
Life seems to have come to stand still. It appears that this civilization has been pushed to 'Dark Ages' once again.
Like Pheonix we have to rise again and contribute the maximum to make the World the best place for our future generations.
Wake up call for everyone!
